Maybe that's why I packed up and left without a word.

If that is so, then we never dare to deal with it(the issue)/him/her face to face. We choose to turn tail and walk away that's what we did. This might leave us with trails, unnecessary baggage. Only if we can face all of our problem face to face and solve it once and for all. Only if we human wouldn't be so emotional(impossible) and be a bit more rationale when we choose who to be with.
